There will be more data and proper atribution here (original author, steam link, original post date, etc) real soon, I promise. This is just like a technical test to see if they're coming in ok at all.
FatalZone » Early Access | Update #1
Attention, survivors!
We’ve been following your feedback and ideas for improving FatalZone and were hard at work not only fixing bugs but also adding new content. Finally, we’re excited to bring you the first update, so here’s its list of changes:
New features:
- Added a notification log so that you never miss one of the following:
– the start of an evacuation;
– resource pickups;
– unique character perks activation;
– interactive points spawning;
– resource containers popping up on the current map;
– appearance of a skill-granting mark. - Added interactive point mechanics. These are zones, upon entering which you will encounter additional enemies.
So don’t stand still anymore! Explore locations during raids to level up your character and return to base with even more resources! - New navigation system — radar!
– arrows have been replaced with icons pointing towards nearby crates;
– the distance to an object can be determined by the corresponding icon’s size: the farther away an object is, the smaller its icon will be;
– the scale around the icon indicates the remaining time before the object will disappear;
– use the E key to turn the radar on and off.This is how it looked like before.
Now the radar looks like this.
- Added containers with more resources than crates. These have a unique appearance and come in several sizes that affect the number of resources inside. They can also hold multiple resource types at once.
- Added unique containers that can hold skills. Note that you can’t evolve a skill with such containers, and that they will stop spawning once all of your skills reach max level.
- Leveling up the Infirmary building now provides new bonuses:
– at level 2, a Healing Dome will spawn at the EVAC Zone and heal 50 HP every 0.5 seconds on player contact (the dome disappears alongside the evacuation point);
– at level 3, the dome will also stun and repel enemies. Its stun duration is 5 seconds;
– at level 4, a chest with a parachute icon will appear at the EVAC Zone. Note that it will also disappear alongside it! - The “Survivor” class now has the unique “Ghost Chance” perk: upon receiving lethal damage, if the Merc has no resurrection charges, they will become invulnerable for 20 seconds. Pick up a first-aid kit or heal under the EVAC Zone Dome during this time to survive. Otherwise, the character will die, and the raid will fail. Once the perk is activated, an icon and a scale showing the time remaining will appear above the character.
- The “Scavenger” class now has the unique “Uncontrolled Magnetism” perk: when activated, all experience spheres, amplifiers, and resources on the location will be instantly collected. The perk triggers once every few seconds and doesn’t affect chests, interactive and evacuation points, or resource and skill containers.
- The Veteran class now has the new unique “Fire Shower” perk: once every few seconds, the character receives a Hellfire drone with a unique appearance. Picking up two drones will prolong the skill’s duration.
- A sound was added when activating the Tank class’s temporary shield.
- Enemy changes:
– Fireman’s fire protection was raised from 0 to 50%;
– Brigade Commander’s fire protection was raised from 0 to 100%;
– Policeman’s shotgun shell color has been changed;
– Spitfire’s shell color has been changed from green to red, plus a bug that sometimes rendered their shells invisible has been fixed.
Misc changes:
- Evacuation:
Changed the effective zone from a rhombus to an ellipse so that it matches the visual representation. - Chests:
Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented the game from being paused when opening a chest. - Mutations:
Fixed a bug where the Merc’s stats did not immediately take any received penalties and mutations into account upon leaving a raid. - Level Ups:
The “Refresh List” button can now be selected with the keyboard by pressing the S or the downward arrow keys. - “Home Run” Skill:
Fixed a bug that caused the main projectile’s fragments to hit the same target;
Reduced the number of projectile splits from 2 to 1. - Katana and Spear:
Fixed a bug that caused the weapon to miss its target. - Steam Achievements:
Fixed a number of issues with unlocking certain achievements.
Plus some other minor fixes!
We’d like to thank you for your patience and active support, and hope that you’ll stick with us to see FatalZone’s future unfold!
