Happy New Years!
– Updated the temporary homepage again, tried a couple different views but settled back to a truncated (but not so truncated as before) ranked section view.
– It shows the first 5 sections right now, if you’re patient enough to wait for it

– Quick tweak to explainer pages which simply hides the sidebar when you’re on a small window (horizontally speaking). The sidebar just contains the menu (same as the pop out menu) and some notes about the scale also mentioned elsewhere, so it’s kind of fine to just hide it at the moment. Some funcitonality might be moved below the post content later, or have a different thing available on small screens.
– Fixed funparade highscore table submit code! you can now submit your high scores, but don’t remember to read the name of each game and check them out after enjoying the art!! Support the artists and devs!
– Disabled caching on leaderboard page
– Fixed patch feed ‘category’ archives to go to the updates feed with the correct category highlighted. this concerns the patch note feed categories (seeing all the updates we’ve imported for whichever game)
– Manually ran the patch feed import from the backend (will be a few weeks before I get the time to finish the automation unless someone is a good cron job troubleshooter)
– Manually ran a function to delete some duplicate imported patch notes (known issue, manually handling it for now)
– Made notes for a bunch of games to add/update, still need to get to pending dev surveys. A little distracted by my partner and I’s upcoming move but I’ll get on them soon promise!

– Started with trying to rank my personal list
– Shared my top list on reddit and asked reddit for advice on what to try (lots of discussion)
– Games featured on that list: Nova Drift, Time Wasters, Rogue:Genesia (top 3 by playtime), Spirit Hunters, 20 Minutes to Dawn, Scarlet Tower, Star Survivor, Soulstone Survivors, Spellbook Demonslayers, Bio Prototype, Void Scrappers, Halls of Torment, Boneraiser Minions
– Other games I mention having tried but not being in my top: Brotato, Bardbarian, Bounty of One, Crafty Survivors, Gunlocked, Keeper’s Toll, Neon Sundown, Nomad Survival, Nordic Ashes, Noobs Want to Live, Repetendium, RICE, Samurai Survivors, Striving For Light: Survival, Swarm Grinder, Time Survivors
– The above games made up the first draft of the ranking list and helped define the features for “what is a survivors-like” and compare/contrast to Vampire Survivors

– Posted on reddit asking how people might design a “10 point” system to rate how close the game is.
– Developed first scale (10 point scale)

– Scaled Vampire Survivors, Army of Ruin, Time Wasters, 20 Minutes to Dawn, Nova Drift
– Expanded scale to 56 points, measured from 0 to 1.
– Fully implemented formulas
– Moved scores to ‘front’ of worksheet from end of scale
– Implemented conditional formatting
